Hospice Shop
The Hospice Southland Shop is a treasure trove of donated items which we are selling to fulfil our motto of "Turning 2nd Hand Goods into 1st Class Care". Please make sure you have plenty of time when you pay us a visit. There is a surprise around every corner and plenty of bargains for all. Maybe you are looking for a piece of that dinner set that the children/grandchildren have broken or simply looking for goods at very realistic prices. There is something here for everyone. We have in stock and accept donations (In good condition) of the following;
We are also involved in "On Line Trading" via Trade Me. We list items under the trader name of "spice31". Our on line trading items tend to be those items that we think will benefit from exposure to a wider market. There are still bargains to be gained via this form of trading as it depends who is on line at the time of the auction. We run our auctions, generally, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6.00pm and 10.00pm. There is also a clothing-only auction on Wednesday nights from 6.00pm-10.00pm. Because many of these auctions are won by out of town buyers, they require packaging and we are always on the lookout for small boxes, bubble wrap and other packing materials to be donated. The shop is manned by some 45 - 50 Volunteers who give freely of their time (on shifts) to carry out the various functions required in this type of retail business. We now also have gift vouchers available for purchase- just perfect for that special someone who has everything! The majority of our donations are dropped off at the shop by donors however we do have volunteers available to pick up donations of goods on most Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Pick-ups on days other than those mentioned can be carried out by arrangement with the Manager. "Turning 2nd Hand Goods into 1st Class Care"
