COMPANIONING THE DYING
Palliative care education for those who spiritually share the journey with people who are nearing the end of their lives.
May be of interest to chaplains, ministers, priests, pastoral care workers, health professionals and those who are interested in spiritual companioning.
This course covers the topics of presence, connectedness, meaning, hope, the tenets of companioning, suffering, bearing witness, metaphor and imagery near the end of life, surrender and acceptance.

HOSPICE NZ PALLIATIVE CARE EDUCATION FOR CARE ASSISTANTS
This programme aims to provide Health Care Assistants with knowledge and understanding of the key principles and skills needed to provide quality palliative care.
This course includes the principles of palliative care, communication and support, pain and symptom management, the process of dying, grief and loss.
When:
Invercargill – 11.30am – 1.30pm

SPIRITUAL AND CULTURAL FORUM
An opportunity to explore spiritual and cultural beliefs around death and dying in an open and inclusive environment.

HOSPICE NZ SYRINGE DRIVER COMPETENCY
Theoretical and practical knowledge to assist Registered and Enrolled Nurses to safely manage continuous subcutaneous infusion. We offer hands on, interactive experience using practical examples in order to manage a subcutaneous infusion.
When:Gore – 1pm – 2.30pm

Te Ara Whakapiri are the Last Days of Life Guidelines specific to New Zealand. It is a nationwide care plan developed to ensure all Health Care Services are focused on delivering the very best care for people who are dying and their family/whānau in all settings including the home
We can provide Education on any aspect of Palliative Care tailored to the needs and requirements of your practice.
